The Southwest Bancorp History of Bank of Kansas
On July 28, 2007, Southwest purchased the Bank of Kansas. Its established branches in Hutchinson and South Hutchinson Kansas boasted 27 employees and approximately $75 million in assets. The Bank of Kansas in 2007 ranked 106th in size for Kansas-charted banks.
SNB Bank of Wichita operating as a Thrift financial institution since 2002, was merged by Southwest into Bank of Kansas in January 2009. The merger created a bank with $177 million in assets. Bank of Kansas then was ranked 43rd in size for Kansas-chartered institutions.
On June 19, 2009, First National Bank of Anthony, with a DBA, First National Bank of Johnson, became part of Bank of Kansas, significantly expanding the Bank of Kansas presence in the state of Kansas. Today Bank of Kansas has created a solid financial institution presence in the state of Kansas and reports $358 million in assets, with a rank of 18th in size for Kansas-chartered banks. This accomplishment has happened in a timeline of just over two years time under Southwest Bancorp.
Today Bank of Kansas operates eight full-service financial institutions and employs 70 professional bankers to serve their customers. Bank of Kansas branches are located in Anthony, Harper, Hutchinson, Overland Park, South Hutchinson, Mayfield and East & West branches in Wichita.
Bank of Kansas offers commercial and consumer lending, deposit, investment services, specialized cash management, consulting and other financial services.
